I won't even try to go over everything that has happened in the past months. There has been deaths of some people I have loved dearly, illnesses of loved ones that have mostly recovered and lots of life changes of others.
I performed two outdoor weddings. It was a very good experience. The scenery for both of them was fantastic and the couple were beautiful and happy.
We are contemplating retirement in the next couple of years, that would be a big change for us. A welcome one I think.
The children and grandchildren are wonderful. Busy and learning and growing.
I had a temporary relapse in my need to get approval from loved ones. It happens occasionally and I get over it and then move on. I have trouble when it catches me off guard ,I'm a work in progress. Oh well, living is continual growth in mind and spirit.

The Year Of No Winter
Been a long time since I've made any entries. I have no idea where all the time went, all I know is , I was busy.
Winter was incredibly different, hardly any snow , no 30 below temps and spring seems to have come early. I have no complaints about that, it's just that it's very disconcerting. I kept waiting for the other boot to drop. That is , for winter to find us, it never really did.

More Jewelry Additions
I finally figured out how to add some pictures and publish posts. I went to the help page and asked the question. I ended up changing to the newer version of the blog. Whahoo.
Wow, glad that's over.
Had a long RA flare-up. It's mostly gone. Now I have the cold that's been going around at work and can't take my RA meds again. Hopefully it won't take long to get over this cold, I have too much that I want to do. Times a wastin'.
In spite of everything, I have been working on my jewelry. Trying some new methods and designs. Lots more to try. Should be a productive winter.
Work has been busy enough, up to over 1600 people on the weekends. It's hard to believe that the season is almost over. The leaves are turning and lots of people are still coming up. The road project is almost done. They have only the details left to finish. The new road is pretty nice, it was a long time coming, but it seems to have been worth it.
The big fire in the BWCAW was over 50% contained, but with the strong winds today that might change. It burned 100,000 acres and produced enough smoke so that it traveled to Chicago. Impressive and destructive.
I don't know why, but I can't seem to upload any pictures. Hopefully I will be able to figure it out.

Back To Work
After having 3 weeks off from work because of the statewide shutdown, I have to say it was nice to have some of the summer off. Work on monday was like I had never been gone. It was very good to see all my coworkers again and to get back to the routine.
I've been talking to my body lately, oh not all of it ,just the joints. As I was unable to take my medication for arthritis for 3 weeks , they started acting up. Right now it's just my shoulders and left index finger. Last night it was also my knees. So I either give them encouragement of a scolding, depending on what's going on at the moment.
Summer has be as varying as usual. A cool June and now a hot and humid July, with a few cooler days thrown into the mix. I love the green lushness of it all.

Weather or Not?

Can't really say too much about the warmer weather, as we haven't had much yet. I have hopes for the next couple of months though.
Work at the lighthouse is going alright. Looks like there will be some changes in the coming weeks. State budget cuts could cause some layoffs and cutbacks in some areas. Never a good thing. We have a new program manager starting in a few days, it will be a good thing. She is smart and knows the site well as she has been associated with it for many years.
I've been working on some projects, hard to decide which ones to do , there are so many of them. There's lots of thngs I have in the planning stages and I have most the supplies, it's just starting them. I want to do some mixed media pieces, some more elaborate beaded pieces and some pieces I'm going to donate for the Alzheimer's walk raffle in the fall. I'll put up some pictures as I progressl
Had my physical this morning, over for another year. I strive to not see doctors more than is absolutely necessary. It seems as if the older I get the more things they find wrong with me. I really don't like that. I don't mind getting older, I mind getting old. I've got to keep moving and trying to stay ahead of it.

Whirlwind of Activity
Well , here we are in March of 2011. Hard to believe that in spite of a very long winter spring is just a few days away. We are supposed to have rain this week, and hopefully it will stay above freezing so we won't get any more snow.
The family is doing well, despite some changes. The grandkids are getting bigger and smarter and stronger. They are most wonderful. My sons are working hard at their jobs and on their homes.
I am looking forward to Jean Auel's new book coming out at the end of the month. The Land of the Painted Caves. I went to the library and checked out her last one in the series. It's been so long since I read it that I need to refresh my memory. I've also been reading Jim Butcher's series-Dresden Files.
Work starts at the lighthouse again in a few weeks. More changes there also. It will be nice if everything goes smoothly.
The jewelry making is progressing. I so enjoy working on new projects. Above is a pendant, worked in copper. I am working in a few different mediums. It keeps things fresh for me and interesting.
